The Africatown Basketball Tournament is a multi-day sports and cultural event. The goal is to establish a tournament that reflects the rich cultural and diverse fabric of Southwest Philadelphia. Our mission is to create safe spaces where youth, families, and communities thrive together, while our vision is to reduce gun violence through positive, structured activities that provide scholarships, grants, mentorship, and exposure for young athletes and participants. By fostering engagement and empowerment, this initiative not only strengthens community bonds but also generates meaningful economic impact in Southwest Philadelphia by driving growth and attracting visitors to the main commercial corridors, supporting local businesses and creating vibrant, resilient neighborhoods.
