About Voffee Jabateh

Voffee Saye Jabateh is the founder and CEO of the African Cultural Alliance of North America (ACANA), a leading nonprofit serving African and Caribbean immigrant communities in Philadelphia. A Liberian-born social worker and community advocate, he established ACANA in 1999 to expand access to social services, cultural programming, and economic opportunity for thousands of newcomers each year. Under his leadership, ACANA has grown into a major regional institution, now developing a multimillion‑dollar African Center and driving the creation of Philadelphia’s Africatown district.
